About the Practitioner

Barbara W. Turpin, DNP, APRN

A Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctoral degree in Nursing Practice and over 16 years of experience, she provides critical care and comprehensive primary care services to diverse patient populations and builds relationships with these families. She believes in patient education to engage them in understanding their healthcare needs and goals. She collaborates with each patient to structure a care plan for optimal health outcomes. 

Barbara completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Science in Nursing degrees at Chamberlain University in Chicago, Illinois. She holds national certifications with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (AANC), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration Services (SAMHSA). 

When away from the clinic, Barbara enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, trying new restaurants in the community, running, and traveling.
